superbowl 52 highlights
There was a good story about faith from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017-18. They had some injuries, but they did not lose hope! A valuable defensive tackle Jason Peters and running back Sproles were down. Some players step up like running backs Blount and Clement. They had an outstanding season so far with QB Carson Wentz making great plays and a strong defense. Wentz does praise God on his twitter account. Their record was 10-2, first in their division. Before game 13, in Los Angeles, Nelson Agholor got baptized in a hotel pool. In the game, Wentz tore his ACL trying to score a touchdown. They had to depend on back up QB Nick Foles to lead the team. He help moved the ball down the field. Defense made a play and won that game. Eagles won the NFC East divisional title. In 2013, Eagles won the NFC East. Nick Foles was the starting QB and threw twenty seven touchdowns and only two interceptions. But his play started to decline and got traded to the St. Louis Rams. There, he played a year and eventually got cut. He played a year as a backup QB on the chiefs and decided he wanted to be back with the eagles. Then they won the next two games to clinch the #1 seed. During the playoffs, I did learned about the Christian testimonies from players like Nick Foles, Nelson Agholor, and Carson Wentz. The next playoff games they were picked to be the underdogs. The reason is that they barely beat the raiders and giants. Atlanta looked hot in upsetting rams. They were underdogs again. Eagles beat Altanta in a close game. Eagles were underdogs also. Then, Eagles won the NFC title beating the Vikings 38-7. Foles got 3 touchdowns by making 2 great long throws to Alshon Jeffrey and Torrey Smith. The defense prevent Vikings from scoring with turnovers! Eagles won Superbowl LII and defeated the Patriots 41-33! Super Bowl MVP Foles was magnificent in making good passes that led to touchdowns. He looked confident in every play. Brandon Graham made a turnover by doing a strip sack on Tom Brady. Coach Pedersen gave glory to God when he was presented the Lombardi trophy. Foles plans to be a pastor after retirement. Foles said this after super bowl -"Don’t be afraid to fail. Failure is a part of life. It is part of growing up and building character. Who would be if we don’t fail. I would not be here if I make mistakes. We all including MVPs have daily struggles. Struggles give us “an opportunity to grow”. “If something is going on, you are struggling, embrace it.”
